Parkwood Baptist Church

Our Pastor, Dr. Stanley Wardlaw, was born in 1952, and married to his wife, Teresa, in 1975.  The Wardlaws enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren.

"Preacher Stan" was born again on April 14, 1977.  It was on this date that he abandoned the illusion of living life his own way and surrendered his life to Jesus Christ, repenting of his sin and determining to follow Jesus as Lord.

On April 14, 1978, almost exactly a year later, he surrendered to preach the gospel after a long struggle with God's call.  He immediately began preaching anywhere the opportunity arose:  nursing homes, parks and churches.  He was called to his first pastorate in 1980.  Since that time, he has served in several churches both in the upstate and low country of South Carolina.

In November of 1991, Pastor Stan went on a mission trip to Brazil where he helped build a local Baptist church.  In January of 2000 he and Steve Hawkins, an associate pastor at Parkwood, joined up with our missionary, Rodney Proctor, and went on a mission trip to Mexico where they had the opportunity to witness to many souls, and learn first hand the tragedies brought on civilization by the Catholic church

Preacher Stan was called to Parkwood Baptist Church in December of 1994 and has seen the Lord do great things at Parkwood.  Through all the years of ministry, Preacher Stan's focus has been on 3 major doctrines: The Book, The Blood and The Blessed Hope.  These doctrines are defined elsewhere on this site and are non-negotiable tests for fellowship at Parkwood Baptist Church.
